About me
Zach began his food career at 13 working in kosher catering. He is a product of the Detroit Jewish Community. Zach is day school educated; his mother Elissa Berg was a prominent Jewish educator in the area. He and his business partner met at Tamarack Camps as little kids and now he is the proud husband of Rabbi Megan Brudney of Temple Beth El. Zach was educated at Michigan State University's School of Hospitality Business. After cooking his way through high school and college, Zach spent 2 years at Zingerman's learning the world of specialty goods. After Zingerman's, Zach moved to the Bay Area to attend the Culinary Institute of America and cook in the fine dining world of San Francisco. Eventually, Zach found his way back to cheese at Bi-Rite Market for 4 years before returning home to open Mongers' Provisions with his best friend Will Werner. Two years ago, they expanded their operations to include The Rind, their restaurant and wine bar.
